January 27, 2014 In Memory of Doug Sheffer
It is with utmost sadness that the Waldorf School has learned of the passing of beloved founder and enduring philanthropist Doug Sheffer. Doug, his wife Barbi and his daughter Brooke have been the foundation of our school since its inception 23 years ago. The family will hold private gatherings in celebration of Doug; the school will plan a celebration of his life in the coming weeks. Please respect the family’s privacy at this time of grieving and keep Barbi, Brooke and the Sheffer family in your thoughts and prayers. The Waldorf School will hold a celebration of Doug’s life on May 18th at 2pm in the Steven Moore Community Hall at WSRF.
At the family’s request, we have set up a Memorial Fund in Doug’s honor to support his passion, vision and dream of providing an exceptional Waldorf Education to the children of the Roaring Fork Valley. To contribute, click the link and we will let the family know of your gift in his memory. Thank you.

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of another dear Waldorf School community member. Stewart Oskenhorn passed away Sunday 2/4 in Aspen. Stewart has been the Aspen Times arts and entertainment editor for 20 years. He was widely admired in his field as well as for the work and dedication he gave to the Waldorf School. He leaves behind his wife Candice and daughter Olivia who graduated from WSRF in 2013. Olivia is a freshman at Aspen High School. Our deepest sympathies are with the Oskenhorn family during this very difficult time. As we receive more information, we will share it with you as appropriate, including funeral or memorial services.
In lieu of flowers or the typical Good Shepherd meals, which often cost $10-$30 and time to prepare, we ask that you will consider a monetary contribution to The Oksenhorn’s Family Foundation to help Candice and Olivia during this time of transition. Contributions can be made to the Oksenhorn Family Foundation at Wells Fargo, account # 7669819992
Any amount is welcome and met with great gratitude.
